2nd installment of the new Crafting Studio

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, June 23, 2021

Happy Wednesday!  Hump day!  I hope you had a fantastic Father's day on Sunday.  My oldest son took his Dad and I out for pizza!  It's such a treat to be able to spend an afternoon catching up!  What did you do for Father's day - BBQ, fishing - things that Dad likes to do!  Two more days until the weekend and my 1st Monthly Get Together for Stampin' Up! kits; 3 days until the Frederick in Flight a hot air balloon festival in my little town; 5 days until my little one comes home from NYC - eeeee!  I can't stand it!  19 months - I can't wait to hug the dickens out of that young'un.

Another scorcher this last weekend.  I spent time in the studio on Saturday working on my next card class, Ice Cream Corner.   Something about this happy designer series paper makes me so happy when I create with it.  Sadly, the DSP, the Ice Cream Sprinkles and the Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon are all retiring on 6/30!  I'll share a fun card I made with this fun suite later on.

This week I wanted to share another "installment" of my new studio.  This week it's all about the closet.   Hubby removed the closet doors so I have a little more space to back up when sitting at my desk for one!  I was so glad for that extra little room so I didn't feel so cramped and banging into the door with my "BIG" chair - lol.  The best thing about the closet is he put a Kallax shelf unit with 12 squares.  I absolutely love the ability to organize all my Stampin' Up! Cardstock, Designer Series Paper, Classic Stampin' Pad, Stampin' Up! Punches.  He put together coordinating 2 drawer cubes into two of the cubes which gave me some extra storage!  As I said last week - You can never have enough storage - right?!

HOTTTT!!!  It's so hot.  How are you staying cool and comfy?  I hid inside all weekend as I am not a hot weather gal.  I guess I did go out for errands - but I hurried from the air conditioned car to the air conditioned store.  Over the past two weekends, hubby has been helping our oldest to form a sidewalk in his backyard.  He is the concrete man - it's so handy to have one around!  They made a couple of pads connected to the patio with stairs.  The price of lumber and other building supplies has sky rocketed this year.  Today they discovered how expensive simple pavers are so they are adding in some concrete "homemade" pavers.  I checked in today on their progress - wow - all is looking really nice.  The big pour is this Friday.  All I could think about though was how were they going to make it through this heat today!

I have been enjoying staying in from the heat designing cards and settling into my stamping studio.  I still have my "recording studio" to set up.  I have some of my equipment - it's all still a little overwhelming.  I need some quality time to just push through it.  This week's blog is dedicated to my studio that my hubby built for me - with IKEA's help - lol!  The majority of my studio's furniture is from IKEA.  It was a challenge to find everything.  It took a few trips (really a trek for us from Frederick to Centennial, CO) to get it all in place, but at the end of the day - I'm really happy with how it turned out!  I have a couple of more shelving solutions and another drawer unit that I'm still contemplating.  You can never have enough storage - right?!

You're A Peach Suite

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, June 02, 2021

Happy Wednesday!  I'm hoping that you had a fun Memorial Day Weekend.  This is a weekend where I am grateful to my father, father-in-law and cousins who served in the Armed Forces.  They rest peacefully at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.  We didn't make it out for a visit this year as were glamping at a KOA campground outside of Fort Collins with some friends this weekend.  They were in our thoughts and our hearts and so thankful for their service.  What did you do this weekend?  Did you have a barbeque, go camping, or just hung out?  I hope you had a fantastic time!

It was a rainy Sunday and Monday here.  So it was a great time for hubby to put the finishing touches on my studio.  Yippee!!!  It's all done - for now anyway until I settle in and decide what other storage I will need over time.  It's so difficult to stay focused on my day gig when the studio is calling my name.  Bonnie - Come and play with me!  I have to close the door to not be distracted - lol!  I'll get some good pictures this weekend and share in next weeks blog.

So while the rain came down and after hubby vacated the room, it was time to play!  I've been itching to play with my You're A Peach Suite!  This suite is so full of Spring/Summer - peach blossoms, small beaches, big peaches, and the such sweet sentiments.  I made a special birthday card for my niece - she is turning 40 years old this year!  We are all so excited she and her two children are heading to Colorado from Germany for a visit this summer!  So is such a sweet woman - sweet as a peach!
