HOTTTT!!!  It's so hot.  How are you staying cool and comfy?  I hid inside all weekend as I am not a hot weather gal.  I guess I did go out for errands - but I hurried from the air conditioned car to the air conditioned store.  Over the past two weekends, hubby has been helping our oldest to form a sidewalk in his backyard.  He is the concrete man - it's so handy to have one around!  They made a couple of pads connected to the patio with stairs.  The price of lumber and other building supplies has sky rocketed this year.  Today they discovered how expensive simple pavers are so they are adding in some concrete "homemade" pavers.  I checked in today on their progress - wow - all is looking really nice.  The big pour is this Friday.  All I could think about though was how were they going to make it through this heat today!

I have been enjoying staying in from the heat designing cards and settling into my stamping studio.  I still have my "recording studio" to set up.  I have some of my equipment - it's all still a little overwhelming.  I need some quality time to just push through it.  This week's blog is dedicated to my studio that my hubby built for me - with IKEA's help - lol!  The majority of my studio's furniture is from IKEA.  It was a challenge to find everything.  It took a few trips (really a trek for us from Frederick to Centennial, CO) to get it all in place, but at the end of the day - I'm really happy with how it turned out!  I have a couple of more shelving solutions and another drawer unit that I'm still contemplating.  You can never have enough storage - right?!

The designing desk!  This is an IKEA Lagkapten tabletop with two Adils legs on my left and an Alex drawer unit on my right.  My new desktop is close to a window - yippee!!!  To my right on the wall, is a Malmback ledge shelf where I can organize my ribbons.  I was a little nervous that the ribbons would roll off the edges - So far it's working out!

The Workspace.  I put 2 large Dark Grey Lagkapten tabletops in an L shape with 5 white Adils legs on one tabletop and then one with 3 white Adils legs and Alex large drawer unit.  I really wanted white tabletops to match my desk, but they were sold out a second time.  So I grabbed the dark grey before I was going to have a wait another 2 months.  I've actually grown to like them!  The extra leg goes in the middle of the tabletop to support the table.  This side is for my recording studio in the making!  I'm thinking about putting another Alex drawer Unit under the left side of this work surface so I can store recording equipment not being used.  What's your vote - put another drawer unit it or leave as is?

This side is where I can work on coloring, larger die cutting or paperwork, ugh!  Next to that is a small Kallax (4 squares) where I store my current stamp sets.  Check out my Pink Dachshund my BFF Yvonne and her daughter gifted me when I launched my business.  I haven't named her yet - I'm thinking of Chloe.  Then there is my Pink Flamingo!  I love Pink so these cuties make my day!  My hubby mounted the TV on the wall so I can watch You tubes for inspiration and learning!  I found my chair at Wayfair - it's a task chair and it's a comfy task chair!  Sometimes, it distracts me from getting work done - but I'm continually learning which is good!  I don't want to overwhelm you with more photos today.  So next week I'll show you my Kallax cubes in what was the closet!  The following week I'll share what's in all my drawers!!!

This the small Kallax unit where I store my stamps.  I store them alphabetically.  I really need to start tagging by catalog so that it is easier to sort when catalogs retire.  I haven't filled the bottom shelf as I am toying with purchasing another 2 drawer unit to store maybe retired stamp sets that I can't part with - still thinking that through.

Have you had a chance to check out the class schedule yet?  I'm starting out with 2 card classes a month.  These card classes will include a kit prepared with all the paper products to make 4 cards/projects and up to $20 in Stampin' Up products to complete the cards/projects.  If you are able to join in person, you are welcome to use my inks and stamps.  You will need to bring your own adhesives or I will have some for purchase.  If you are not able to join in person, I have a To Go option to either pickup from my home or ship to your home.  You will need to purchase the stamp set or you are welcome to use your own from your stash if it works for you!  I'll offer an option for purchasing the inks and adhesives I used in my sample.  Each card class will feature a different technique.  Think how you can expand your papercrafting prowess!

Monthly Kit Gathering is scheduled for the Last Friday of the month starting June 25.  Purchase your kit online by 6/17 and come to my home and have some fun crafting and sharing.  Just an evening of no stress, unwind and make some cards or small projects from Stampin' Up!'s new Kits Collection.  Currently, there are 9  incredible card kits and 3 crafting kits on my online store and all at a great price point.  Four of the kits are non-stamping kits for those that are wanting to craft but have little stamping experience.  The kits are an excellent way to learn and increase your skills from month to month.  We can all come up with some alternatives for each other to try out!

Have you had an opportunity to check out the great deals in the Last Chance Product site on my online store?  If you haven't had a chance, you have 17 more days left on the Last Chance Products from the 2021 January - June mini catalog.  Last Day to order these products is June 30

There are some really great deals, here are a few of my favorites I am sad to see go:

The theme for July's Paper Pumpkin theme  - The Adventure Begins.  Summer brings graduations, weddings and other opportunities to take the next big adventure that life has to offer.  This may be just the right kit for you to make some wonderful inspiring cards about life's next big adventure for someone in your life!

The kit comes with enough supplies to create twelve cards with coordinating envelopes.  Including in the kit is a Stampin' Spot and an exclusive stamp set, inspirational sentiments and adventure-themed imagery.  Nature inspired colors include:  Basic Black, Basic White, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Night of Navy.

Lastly, just to give you a little inspiration here is card I made a few weeks back with my Layering Triangles.  I had cased this card from Gail Ellis, of Blue Rose Paper Treasures - I loved the use of the triangles and her color theme.  I love browns and blues.  Gail used Seaside Spray which is retired so I replaced with Pool Party.  Another great masculine card!  I added the triangle banners - I just had to add them to my card - they are so delightful!

I'm anxiously awaiting 6/28 when my youngest comes home from NYC for a week long visit after 18 longs month!  I can't wait!  I'm going to work really hard for the next few weeks so I can take the entire week off to spend quality time with him.  No plans - just relish in his company and spoil him rotten - lol!

It's going to be 100 this week in Denver - I so missed early summer!  Stay cool - and
KEEP ON CRAFTING!
