Filled With Happiness Thank You Card

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, January 13, 2024

Happy Saturday!  I hope you had an enjoyable New Year's and are off and running for your 1st week of 2024.  My husband and I are so amazed how quickly time is passing and that another year was put to rest.  I'm so looking forward to peace and healing in 2024 as 2023 was full of stress and sadness.  I've been offline from blogging for awhile as my sweet mother, Alice, passed away on 11/6.  It's been a challenging holiday season this year without her sweet smile at our holiday table.  I spent much of the time working through her final wishes, financial plans and preparations for her Celebration of Live on 12/27 and her internment with my father at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on 12/28.  It was a wonderful celebration and I know that she would have been tickled to see those who attended and laugh along to her Elvis singing in the background.  While I disappeared, I hope you haven't given up on me!  I'm excited to get back to normalcy, whatever thaty may look like, after this spending the majority of last year caring for her, moving her multiple times and ensuring that she was getting the best care she could receive after leaving our home this summer.  I sat down on Monday and got my desk calendar updated so I could be better prepared for the next few months of classes, events, and blog hops.  I've marked down a number of blog hops to participate in.  I'm looking so forward to getting back into my stamping studio to create and share with you!

So much excitement this week as the new 2024 January - April Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Brochure debuted online!  There are so many wonderful Spring products to choose from to create stunning cards, scrapbook pages and 3D projects. During last Wednesday's Facebook Live, I played with a few new products from both the new catalog and brochure.  I need lots of Thank You cards to express my appreciation for those that came to mom's memorial and to those sending kind thoughts/wishes - and yes, there was Christmas gifts received during that time as well that need Thank You cards!

I wanted to create some simple Thank You cards, due to the amount I needed, and the Filled with Happiness Photopolymer Stamp set quickly enabled me to make 6 Thank you cards - 2 each of 3 designs (just in different colors) in less than an hour.

These 2 cards were made with Ink, Stamp, Paper and blending brushes - so simple!.  I used Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo as I hadn't played with these colors in so long.  The sweet little hearts are from the Bee Mine Suite Collection - the Adhesive-backed Hearts & Flowers.  They were just perfect to add a simple embellishment.  The Simply Scored Scoring Tool made easy work of score 2 lines on each side of the cardstock to give it a little more pizzazz.  I got this idea from Mary Knabe.  Thank you Mary for such a nice way to dress up a simple card.

Click Here to replay Wednesday's Facebook Live to watch how I made all three sets of cards.  Here are photos of the other 2 sets of Thank You cards made that evening!

For the 1st card shown above, I used Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo cardstock and coordinating colors of background prints from the Softly Stippled 12" x12" Designer Series Paper to add additional depth.  The Opaque Faceted Gems went along very well as final embellishments - both are from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The Modern Oval Punch coordinates with the Filled With Happiness Photopolymer Stamp set to punch out the perfect oval for the sentiments.  And the new Floral Layered 3D Embossing Folder adds an incredible background for a card front!  On the 2nd card shown above, I wanted a simple design similar to my very 1st set of cards, but wanted to add just a little something more.  I used the Go To Greetings Cling Stamp Set from the 2023 - 2024 Annual Catalog for the Thank You sentiment.  To add the little something extra, I chose two lovely prints in Calpyso Coral and Pool Party from the Softly Stippled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.  They coordinate very well with the colors I chose to work with.  This paper is made to coordinate with the new Stippled Roses Bundle from the 2024 January - April Mini Catalog.  I have this beautiful stamp set on my wish list as I love the detail in the roses and the leaves.

Next Wednesday's Facebook Live will showcase the new Doggone Friendly Cling Stamp Set and the new Stampin' Brayer!  Come join me next week at 6:30pm (mt) to craft along while I make a sweet doggie card!
