Bag of Bones Halloween Treat Bags

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, October 06, 2023

Happy Friday!  I haven't made it to the beautiful Colorado Rockies this fall, but the pictures I am seeing from friends on Facebook are gorgeous!  I love Fall!  The colors are amazing in the Colorado Rockies.  Although, I have had a chance to see the reds and oranges of Wisconsin and the East Coast - I love them all!  How about you - do you love Fall?

I made it back to my Facebook Live Wednesday evening crafting time this week!  I so missed spending time crafting and providing some inspiration!  This week I showcased the adorable Bag of Bones Bundle from the Them Bones suite collection.  If you love Halloween and are looking for something to craft with this season - this is the one to get!

The skeleton images and sentiments from the Bag of Bones Photopolymer Stamp set are so fun to create with in all colors of inks including White Embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock.  The skeletons really pop!

The numerous accessory dies included in the Bag of Bones Dies are even more fun to craft with.  It's like I'm back in my paper doll days - lol!

The Them Bones 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper has great Halloween prints to dress up your bag toppers.  I especially like the Orange and Black plaid print!  The skeleton, dog, and cat dies from the Bag of Bones Dies will cut out the images on the black paper!  And there is a collage paper that you can cut apart to make fast and fun card fronts!

Want a little something extra to embellish your bags?  Die cut some bats and bones from the Bag of Bones Dies from the Glow-in-the-Dark 6" x 6" Specialty Paper!  It really doesn't take much light absorption in order for the bats & bones to glow in the dark.  I may try cutting out some cowboy hats and boots for some bags in the future!

I used the Countryside Corners Dies to make the treat bag toppers.  They are the perfect size to fold in half and staple to 6" x 8" Cellophane Bags.  These bags are perfect size for placing a few bite size candy bars.  My hubby loves to give out handfuls of candy to the trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood - although he only gets maybe 2 -3 of the doorbell rings and then he is off.  By making these little treat bags, my candy lasts longer - lol!

Click Here to watch the Facebook live recording.  Leave a comment about the bags and be entered to win a package of Adhesive Backed Glow-in-the-Dark Bats & Ghosts by tonight 8pm (I said 6pm in the live but I'm a bit behind in getting this out).  These embellishments are out of stock and will not be reordered!  So last chance to get a package!

Check out my Facebook live recording to see all the skeletons I stamped and some of the other combinations I laid out for later crafting.  I spent some time last night cutting up enough cardstock and DSP to make 60 bags.  I die cut all of the stamped images and many accessories, bats and bones to get through about 15 more.  Much more stamping to do, but they are just so darn cute it will go fast.  Now I need to get busy putting some bags together - a great TV watching activity.  Do you craft while you binge watch?

Since we returned from our British Isles cruise, I've had my hubby watching a few of my favorite historical fiction series.  As we toured the Tower of London, we were both fascinated with the many uses of the location.  We just finished The White Queen and into the White Princess so he can learn more about the War of the Roses along with the "bloody drama" within the Towers walls.  Next up will be the Spanish Princess.  I had him watch The Tudor's before our trip.  We had a glimpse at Henry VIII's armor as he aged.  He was a big man!  Catching up on all of these and maybe find some more Irish and Scottish movies will give me lots of time to finish my treat bags before 10/31!

Don't forget tomorrow is World Card Making Day - so spend a little time in your craft room and celebrate this day of crafting!  Or spend sometime at your Fall craft fair.  There are a few in our area this weekend and next weekend!  I hope you have a fabulous Fall weekend and ...

KEEP ON CRAFTING!
