On the Ocean Card

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, April 06, 2023

Happy Wednesday!  It's been a busy week with kit preparations for two upcoming card classes, making samples for May classes, gathering/submitting my preorder from the new 2023 Annual Catalog, and taking care of my mom.  My mom has lived with my husband and I for a year the end of March.  Recently, she has been going through some issues that have me hopping!  I'm hoping that after another visit to the doctor today, we are back on a normal track.  Taking care of an elderly parent comes with a lot of responsibility and a plethora of relationship challenges.

Today's Facebook live showcases a fun, maritime themed bundle - On the Ocean.  The bundle is available through May 1st.  Both the On the Ocean Photopolymer Stamp Set and the On the Ocean Dies are carrying over to the new 2023 Annual Catalog - YAY!!!  The On the Ocean Photopolymer Stamp Set comes with a great ship, waves, and accessories to complete the theme.  The On the Ocean Dies are the best!  I had a lot of fun making different versions of clipper ships and added some skull and bones for fun!

I cased this card from a recent Stampin' Up! Artisan Team post.  The cards that were in the post were absolutely over the top!  I oohed and aahed and immediately placed an order to purchase the bundle so I too could make some fun ship cards.  I want to give credit to the very talented artists - heavy sigh - I just can't seem to get my finger on the post with all of the wonderful photos that I had downloaded.  My apologies in advance for not recognizing each and every artist in my post today.

Today's card was rather simple compared to the the more elaborate die cut elements on the other 4 cards I made.  I really loved the simplicity of this card and yet it looks so well...artistic!  I especially loved playing with my blending brushes to get just the right shade of blue using Starry Sky ink and then stamping the artsy waves with Night of Navy ink.  Looks really difficult - but it truly is so easy!

I'm going to save the other 4 cards that I made for an upcoming card class on Thursday, May 4 at 6pm - 9pm at my home in Frederick, CO.  I offer a kit to go (pickup) or ship to your home for an additional $5.  A PDF tutorial comes with your kit.  If you are interested only in the PDF, I'll provide you a link via Paypal for direct download for $5.

I spent a little time during the Facebook Live today with some show and tell.  I'm really embarrassed to say I had set aside my Christmas cards to open and I just found them in my home office desk hutch.  I must have gathered them before my cleaning crew came before Christmas and totally forgot to get them out of their safe place.  I had so much fun looking at all the details on the handmade cards I received in the mail!  Thank you so much!  I will treasure each work of art!

I also, walked through a list of items that are no longer available from the Last Chance Product sale.  So many color products are already gone!  The biggest surprise to me is that the Stamparatus is sold out already!  I am so sad to see this tool retiring as I can't live without mine.  If you have anything on your wish list, please, please don't wait to make your purchases!

I received my new 2023 Annual Catalog today in the mail yesterday.  I had only a quick 5 minutes to page through the first few pages last night.  It is so colorful especially with the color refresh.  I can't wait to sit down and ogle each beautiful page.  I'm anxiously awaiting my big box from the big order I placed yesterday!  It's in picking right now so hoping to have it soon.  I may hop on for an additional Facebook Live to go through my box so you can see all the gorgeous new colors!

Have a great rest of your week!  Spring will be making a come back here in Colorado this Easter weekend!  I'm really excited as we get to meet my oldest son Sean's girlfriend as he is bringing her to dinner on Sunday!  I've heard so much about her and have enjoyed looking at their photos from their recent trip to Mexico/Costa Rica.

I wish you a very Happy Easter and hope that you are able to spend sometime with your loved ones enjoying the renewal of the season!

KEEP ON CRAFTING!
