Ballet Beauty Card

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, March 15, 2023

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday to Me!  I've always have enjoyed birthdays.  When I was working, I would take the day off and have a fun day shopping with friends.  Now it feels just like another day - nothing exciting.  Give me a day in my stamping studio without interruption would be perfect!  Hubby is taking me out for dinner tonight at our favorite local Italian Restaurant nearby.  It will be a quiet celebration with my mom and oldest son, Sean.  I'll definitely enjoy that!  Today, I received a wonderful planter full of tulip bulbs from my BFF Yvonne!  I can't wait to see them blossom!

Spring is definitely working up it's energy to make it's debut next week!  Lately, I have been drawn to the spring colors:  yellows, pinks, peaches and blues.  Today is a Pink kind of day!

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a ballerina.  I so wanted to take dance lessons, however, it wasn't in the cards.  When I saw the Ballet Beauty Cling Stamp Set in the 2023 January - April Mini Catalog, I immediately added it to my list.  When my husband and I were "building" our family, we didn't have girls, rather we were blessed with two beautiful baby boys.  And so far, no granddaughters to spoil with pink tutus!  To get my fix, I had to have this set so I could make some pretty ballerinas just for me to give to someone special!

I picked up the stamp set yesterday, and was immediately drawn to the ballerina performing an Arabesque en-pointe in the spotlight.  I think I have the ballet terminology - lol!  I did a bit a you tube watching tonight.

I used the one of my new Online Exclusive's products - Radiating Stitches Dies to create the base for the background.  I love the textured detail of the radiating lines.  This made a perfect background for the Stage!

I created a circle mask/stencil with the largest Layering Circle Die on Basic White cardstock and then blended Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad with a Blending Brush to create a perfect spotlight for the pretty pink ballerina to shine!  Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin' Pad stamped off once makes for a spectacular pink pink!  Talking of shine, the Gold & Rose Gold 6" x 6" Metallic Specialty Paper provides a striking border for the background.  Rose Gold is a perfect choice with pink!  If you don't like the metallic texture, the Rose Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Paper would be another fantastic choice.  Lastly, the Petal Pink 3/8" Soft Polyester Ribbon and Opal Rounds finish off the card front.  I absolutely love this ribbon!  It's so soft!  It feels like soft suede.

I had a bit of fun making the inside of the card too!  I used my Stamparatus to make a series of en-pointe ballerina legs across the bottom of the card.  I saw this idea on page 46 of the mini catalog.  It really was so simple due to the unique hinges on the Stamparatus platform and plates.  I was able to move from hinge to hinge across the page for perfectly spaced ballerina feet!  Catch the replay of the Facebook Video to check this technique out and give a try!  This is one of the many reasons I love my Stamparatus!

The Ballet Beauty Cling Stamp set has 3 soft images and 4 simple sentiments offering gentle encouragement.
