Soft Seedlings

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, October 16, 2022

I'm loving Autumn!  The colors here in Colorado are golden!  I didn't make it up to the mountains this season, but the amazing photos posted by my facebook friends are absolutely gorgeous!

Thursday night, I hosted an Autumn card making class at my home using the Fond of Autumn bundle and the Soft Seedlings Cling Stamp Set.  Everyone loved these products!  I am especially fond of the Soft Seedlings stamp set.  The artistic softness of the stamp images is right up my alley!

I recently saw a demo on the "Baby Wipe" technique.  It piqued my interest as it is what I call "Artsy Fartsy" and I love that!  So, I thought I would give it a go with this card and the large leaves turned out amazing!  I definitely need to practice a bit more before I demo in a class with my customers.  I'll be watching for new products over the coming months to demo with!  I used Mango Melody, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Merry Merlot ink refills to make my baby wipe ink bed.  I think this color combination worked well.  What is your favorite Autumn Stampin' Up! color combinations?

I used the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing folder on Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze cardstock to make the background and bottom strip.  I used a sponge dauber to apply Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie ink to the Pumpkin Pie cardstock leaf imprints left by the embossing folder.  I brushed some of the leaves with a little bit of Wink of Stella to add some glitz.  Since I needed to fussy cut the Soft Seedlings images, I cut off the seedlings from the leaf clusters and put the seedlings on the inside of the card.  I looked through all my dies looking for some leaves and I found the perfect one in my Ranunculus Dies.  Who would have thought that a vintage Parisian stamp bundle would have the perfect leaves for Autumn?  I die cut the leaves from a custom paper created with blending brushes to mix same ink colors I used for the baby wipe technique.  Lastly, I embellished with the gems from the Leaf Label and Amber Gem combo pack.  If the leaves weren't so brown I would have used them instead of making my own - but I wanted that perfect gold, orange, red autumn leaf color!

I hope to see some of these amazing colors on our upcoming Canada/New England cruise!  Have you used the baby wipe technique, and if so, did you love it or not love it?  I would love to see your comments on this one!
