Sweet Sunflowers

Sunflowers! To me they are one of the happiest flowers in the garden. They can get very large if they grow from basic sunflower seeds, I learned by the seeds pushed out of the bird feeder! However, you can even find them along the road growing wild and much smaller. Anderson Farms, A local farm near my home, is having a Sunflower festival where you can pick your own sunflowers from their 15 acres of sunflowers. They have over 17 varieties! I didn't have a chance to make it over. I've had many friends that went, and their photos were amazing! It's on my list for next summer!

However, my August 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit arrived last week and didn't disappoint! Sweet Sunflowers is amazing! The artwork on the envelopes, and the card front, and backs are so stunning! I made the three card variations that are in the kit, but I cut up the rest of the cards in two in order to make variations of my own at next week's Monthly Kit Gathering here at my home on August 26! The bonus gold foil honeycomb's are so pretty - I am going to find it difficult to use them!

I think my favorite has to be the card front with two softly water-colored sunflowers. It's amazingly simply by only adding a vellum honeycomb cut out, a small strip of Blackberry Bliss printed paper, a sentiment label and two small bees! And it's so very pretty!

The back of this card is just as stunning!

The other two cards incorporate similar elements of honeycomb, bees, sunflowers and beautiful splashes of color! This one has a honeycomb background with colorful small flowers.

The back of this card was the same as the front of the card - a mottled Mossy Meadow green.

The third card has a splash of floral with the opportunity to use the sunflower elements in the stamp set. I learned a new technique that makes the flower stand out so much more by stamping and then twist the stamp one direction either to the left or right and stamp again with new ink! It makes a sunflower full of petals!

The back of this card will be perfect for a starting background for future cards!

Let's not forget the beautiful envelopes that came in the kit. They are just as stunning as the cards themselves. You could even use these for card fronts if you would like!

I am so excited with how beautiful these cards are that I am poised to order refill kits. Heard it through the grapevine though yesterday, there was such a demand for this kit even before it hit the mailboxes that there will be no refills available! I haven't yet seen the official announcement - but that's the word from some fellow demonstrators. I cried a tear for that. Maybe in the future they will produce more of these kits and post in the Kits Collection - let's all cross our fingers together! I've never sent something in on the suggestion box - but this will be one that I will do for all of us!
