Hey Sports Fans

Let's Play Ball!  Open Day across the United States for that longtime American Summer sport - Baseball.   Here in the Denver area, the Colorado Rockies had their opening day on Friday, 4/8.  My hubby and I avoid all the hoopla downtown around the stadium - it's just not our thing!  But I do enjoy going to the stadium once during season to enjoy a summer evening game during the later days of summer.  How about you?  What is your favorite baseball team that you support?  

We had a busy weekend, it started off with a visit to our friends in Buena Vista, Colorado.  It is such a beautiful mountain town along the Collegiate Range with Mount Princeton being my most favorite of the three peaks.  My father spent many of his years of his youth at a boy's camp in this sweet mountain town.  This is where he spent many days fishing on the Arkansas river.  It was his favorite summer camping trip he shared with us when we were young.  Both Friday and Saturday were gorgeous blue-sky days to provide a stunning backdrop of the majestic peaks still dusted with snow.  I had a request to bring along some birthday, sympathy and retirement cards, so I pulled out a suite from the 2022 January - June Mini Catalog that I hadn't yet had a chance to play with - Hey Sports Fan Suite Collection to make a few cards birthday and retirement cards!

I made a custom banner for the next card and added the "Retirement Wishes" sentiment from the Paradise Palms Cing Stamp set.  The Bumblebee/White Star dsp was cut with the large rectangle die from the Sports Event Dies.  I love how the die includes perforation cuts to make all the ticket like dies look like tickets!  The mini string of red tickets is cut using the die and the Poppy Parade striped paper.  I placed the die on the red stripe and ran through my Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  Each of the tickets have a perforation separator just like a real string of tickets!  

Oh Happy Day!  I received my big brown box filled with my preorder from the new 2022 - 2023 Annual Catalog.  I was like a kid on Christmas morning ripping into the box and enjoying each new product!  

The new 2022 - 2024 In Colors are absolutely the bomb!   I love the bright tropical colors.   The new In Colors are:  Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.

This is a great resource to jump start your creative process in designing your projects.  I tend to use my same favorites and occasionally I need a little encouragement to go outside the box.  I've added the same to the menu drop down under Tutorials above on my blog for future need.  

The 6" x 6" Designer Series Assortment paper showcasing all the available Stampin' Up! colors have been revamped.  I especially am excited to play with my new In Color paper!  The new Designer Series Paper in this catalog favors the new in colors as well.  So bright and cheerful!  I just can't describe how luscious they are!

Here is a photo of one of the other retirement cards I made for our friends this weekend using the Paradise Palms Bundle.  I added the small sun to the sunset under the palm of the large tree for a bit of a surprise!  I think I'm going to have to make some more of these cards!
