Light the Candles

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, March 31, 2022

Happy Spring!  March 31 - and March is a wrap!  I turned another year older and my youngest just celebrated his 29th birthday yesterday - how does that happen!!!!  I so missing making the birthday cake and watching him and his friends having fun at the birthday party.  Heavy Sigh - he lives in NYC so just not the same to spoil him with a home cooked meal and a homemade birthday cake.  But it's the circle of life and he is off having the time of his life with his friends still - lol!

I made him a fun birthday card from the Light the Candles Kit from the Stampin' Up!© Kit collection.  The colors and patterns are so bright and cheerful and I love the Happy Happy Birthday sentiment!

I altered my set of cards by cutting the printed cards into two 5 1/4" x 4" card fronts and then mounted them on different cards using coordinating colors of Coastal Cabana, Magenta Madness (retiring May 2nd - available while supplies last) and Mango Melody.  This way I have more fun card backgrounds for future cards.  I also added Wink of Stella to the candle flames and then put a small Champagne Rhinestone Jewel in the middle of each candle flame.

This fun and bright birthday card kit includes the following supplies:
  • Light the Candles Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Acrylic Stamp Block
  • Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Spot
  • Step-by-step instructions
  • Precut pieces (No prep work! Get right to crafting)
  • Makes 8 cards: 4 each of 2 designs
  • 8 preprinted envelopes
  • Enough adhesive to complete projects

The stamp set included in the kit has a variety of sentiments and fun filler images like the confetti shown on the card samples.  I decorated the inside of the card with the small candle flame stars!

The second design is a bright and cheery piece of birthday cake!

I received my copy of the new 2022 - 2023 Annual Catalog that will be going live on May 3, 2022.  I couldn't wait to dive into the catalog to see what was new and some ideas for the carried over items.  I made my wish list this afternoon - and it's a long one.  I am unable to share anything from the inside of the catalog yet but here is the cover photo - isn't it just luscious!

The new 2022 - 2024 In Colors are very prominent in the many delightful products.  The new In Colors are:  Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.

The 6" x 6" Designer Series Assortment paper showcasing all the available Stampin' Up! colors have been revamped.  I especially am excited to get my hands on the new In Color version as the colors are so fun and bright - very tropical and definitely spring into summer!!

Preorder begins tomorrow!  I'm counting my pennies to see what I will be able to get - lol!  Retirement has cut into my craft pennies - darn it!  However, I've been setting a little aside each month and then there was a birthday this month - lol!  I'll be starting on samples for a Catalog Launch Party on May 14 - mark your calendars!  More details will be coming out over the next few weeks.

If you, too, would like to get your hands on the new products right now - a month in advance of others - consider joining my team!  Pick $125 worth of supplies for only $99.  Then you can begin using a 20% discount on all your future orders!  I would love to share with you how to join my team - I'm available by phone or email - click on Contact me above in the menu of drop downs at the top of the page!

Sadly - when the new catalog comes along, the old catalog is retired and many of the great products that have been available since last May are on their way out the door.

Click Here to see a list of retiring products.

Click Here to see a list of products that are sold out already!  I pulled down from Stampin' Up!'s site this evening so it's up to date as of this afternoon.

If you would like to receive a copy of the new 2022 - 2023 Annual Catalog in your mailbox towards the end of April, please click here to request a catalog.  I'm ordering catalogs tomorrow with my preorder - I hope to have in my hands in a couple of weeks to begin mailing.

If you had placed orders with me in the last 6 months, you should receive one directly from Stampin' Up! mid to late April!

Place your order any time prior to April 10th!  Perfect kit to bring to our April Monthly Kit Gathering on April 22!  I am moving the event up by a week as I am going on my first Scrapbooking retreat since 2019.

Now that my mother is moved in and settling in, I will be posting upcoming classes this weekend.  I have a fun tutorial for Easter bag's that I will be posting this weekend as well.

Here is a photo of one of the bags using the Easter Friends Cling Stamp set.  The little duck is just such a happy little guy to welcome springtime!

I'm hoping for some spring rain as it's been pretty dry here in Colorado again.  January, February and early March brought a small snow storm each week to give some moisture here on the eastern slope - but the past few weeks have been dry and sometimes in the 70's already.  There was even a wild fire again near Boulder - egads already!  We had a little rain yesterday but not enough - it's never enough lol here in Colorado.

Enjoy your week and ...

Keep on Crafting!
