Calming Camelia

What the 1st week of January is gone?  Where did that week go?  It was my 1st week of retirement.  I enjoyed being lazy sleeping in, reading books and napping!  Lol - I did go to the gym to see what I might be interested in doing on a regular basis and got some of my winter clothes out as it was very chilly here last week with more snow.  

Today started with getting Christmas decorations put away - got 1/2 of it done - lol!  It has been so wonderful knowing I have the freedom to work on anything for an hour and take a break!  

I am buckling down this week though to work on samples for my 2022 January - June mini catalog Launch Party at my home on Saturday, 1/29/22 from 10 am - 2pm.  I'll have samples of many of the new products, a fun make and take, door prizes and retiring products.  For those that aren't able to come to my house, I'm thinking of doing a live zoom on Monday, 1/31?  What do you think - message or email me if you are interested!  

I played with a few of the new Sale-A-Bration products last week and finished up a sweet card using the Calming Camellia Cling Stamp Set.  I chose a purple theme as I wanted to send a card to my BFF in Montrose and purple is her color!    

I cased this design from the Sale-A-Bration catalog on page 17.  I changed it up a bit using the Highland Heather/Gorgeous Grape Theme which I pulled from the background paper that I added.  I used a different die and made my own ribbon by using my Stampin' Blends and White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.  I also added some Fresh Freesia 202102023 In Color Jewels for the finishing touch.  I just love tearing paper - it's my signature design in many of my scrapbooks!

For this sweet card, I used another free product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure - the Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  This is a great Springtime background.  The package includes 8 each of 6 double sided designs in the following Stampin' Up! colors:  Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Bumblebee, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Misty Moonlight, Pool Party, Smoky Slate and So Saffron.  Item # 158128 - Fee with $50 purchase - January 4 - February 28. 

I used the Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather combination for my card.

Lastly, I used the adorable Sale-A-Bration Catching Butterflies Cling Stamp set (free with $50 purchase) for the inside of the card.

The Kaleidoscope of Butterflies (did you know that is what one of the names for a group of butterflies?  Absolutely brilliant!) in the lower right-hand corner were colored with WaterColor Pencils:  Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  The sweetest sentiment "You make my heart happy" says it all!
