Christmas Whimsy

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, November 07, 2021

What a beautiful November Sunday!  Hope you all were able to enjoy the outdoors.  My oldest son went hunting for the first time this weekend - but no luck.  More chilly in the upper mountains - 20 degrees at night.  They were camped higher up and the elk and deer moved downwards to get warmer.  Hubby cleaned out my garden and we still had loads of Salsa Chilies due to the warmer weather.  My little tree in my front yard is shedding it's leaves - by next weekend the beautiful golden beauty will be all gone - heavy sigh!  But I'm ready for it to get cooler and maybe even a tiny bit of snow!  Lol!

The creative smoke has been coming from my craft room thickly!!!  I've been making all kinds of projects from the upcoming Carbon Valley Holiday Marketplace (craft fair) next weekend (Saturday, 11/13) in Frederick.  I've been organizing all my Christmas and assorted greeting cards, creating gift tags, gift cards and treat boxes/bags.  It's amazing how much effort goes into organizing for an event like this.  As always - it's a learning experience!  I'm excited to see how it goes!

One of my projects is a 4 card pack of the new Christmas Whimsy Card Kit.  I worked on this at our last monthly kit gathering on 10/29.  We all worked on Christmas cards at our last gathering.  One of us is done with her Christmas Cards - great job Carrie Kollmar!  My sister, Diana, has made some awesome cards for her 1st Christmas Card making adventure - great job Diana!

The coordinating colors for this whimsical card kit is a soft muted palette of Christmas Colors:   Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Evening Evergreen, Gray Granite, Misty Moonlight, Poppy Parade, Real Red, So Saffron, Soft Succulent, Soft Suede.

The kit comes with 2 cards that I packaged into a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Acetate Card Box.  These are fabulous for packaging cards for gifting or craft fairs.  I placed 2 of each design:  the elves with packages and the elf decorating the tree into my card boxes for a total of 4 cards.  I decided to cut my elf cards apart and bordered them with Gold Foil Sheets.  I then used Poppy Parade cardstock for my card front!  A simple alternative that you can try for your kit.

If you are in the neighborhood, please stop by for a visit.  I would love to chat with you and share my projects!  Currently, there are 48 vendors registered - should be lots of variety for holiday craft fair shoppers!

Wow - this is an amazing promotion during the month of November for anyone that's been thinking of joining my team.  For only a $75 investment, you receive $125 in product!  That's anything that you have on your wish list from both of the current catalogs.  You can totally customize your Starter Kit.  Did I say Wow?

What an excellent opportunity to jump on!  What are the advantages of joining my team:  1) 20% discount on all of your purchases, 2) early access to pre-order from the new catalogs and early release products, 3) and making new friends with other creative crafters on my team!

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me, email me, messenger me, text me and I would love answer your questions and help you sign up!  Please note that you are not required to demonstrate - but you never know - this may open up an opportunity that you didn't even dream of!

The gate to Eden's Garden has opened!  Come on in and see the beautiful products available with this stunning collection.  The early release ordering began on Tuesday, 11/2.  I cut out a card today, but had to step away to work on organizing for the craft fair so I wasn't able to complete it to share with you tonight - bummer!  The Eden's Garden 12" x 12" Specialty DSP paper is so lovely - especially for those color Green diehards!  Add the gorgeous gold foiled paper and you are in love with Eden's Garden.  And what a perfect green for the holidays - Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen are fabulous greens for your holiday crafting!

Eden's Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper

The Ever Eden 12" x 12" Cotton Paper is the texture of tissue paper.  I cut out the leaflets and they are very soft.  I saw a project in the Stampin' Up' demonstrator launch where this paper is cut into 1/4" strips, wrapped around a pencil, spritzed with water than dried with the Heat Tool (on low setting) and it makes the most amazing curled paper for packaging or embellishment for a project!

I only played a bit with the dies and the DSP today - no stamping yet.  I can tell you, though, the stamp set is lovely and the sentiments pull at your heart strings.

Eden's Garden Bundle

Lastly, the Garden Gems are amazing!  I used the small red/green gems to decorate a small 3" x 3" gift card for a packet of gift cards.  The blue marquise cut gems are absolutely stunning!  I can't wait to embellish a project with these pretty gems!

Please note:  The Garden Gems, the Eden's Garden Specialty DSP, and the Ever Eden's Cotton Paper are only available through January 3, 2022.  The Bundle will carry over into the new 2022 January - June Mini Catalog debuting on 1/3/22.  Please do not miss out on this stunning collection!

My Class Schedule has been updated to reflect the November Monthly Kit Gathering as Friday, 12/3/21.  This date worked for the majority of the faithful crafters.  If you haven't joined us yet, this would be an excellent opportunity to work on your holiday projects with a fun evening of crafters sharing!

The Whimsy & Wonder class was great fun!  Janice Miller, a crafting friend from Wisconsin, joined us that day.  It was so much fun catching up with Janice and my BFF Yvonne and her daughter!  Everyone's cards were so pretty and all enjoyed learning some new techniques!

Next class will be the Snowmen & Snowflakes class on 11/27.  My apologies, I'm behind in getting out the class samples due to all the preparation for the craft fair.  I have two more samples to create - hoping to post them by Friday evening, 11/13.

The last class for 2021 will be Gift Bags, Gift Card Holders and Gift Boxes on 12/4.  If you need some fun ways to gift your family and loved ones - this is the class for you!

I'll be posting my 2022 class schedule next week after the craft fair.  For those of you coming to the fair, you will get a first glimpse at what's ahead.  Many of the classes will showcase products from the upcoming new catalog launching in January so it's a surprise to all of us - even me - of what products will be showcased!  I'm anxiously awaiting to see the new products in the 2022 January - June Mini Catalog at OnTour this weekend.

Sadly, the 2021 July - December Mini Catalog will be retiring a number of products by January 3.  I've not yet seen the retiring list, I'll post as soon as I have access to it so you can think about those items on your wishlist that might be gone after 1/3/2022.
