What a great weekend - perfect weather for finally getting my flowers and vegetables in the ground and throwing my 1st reitring product sale/new catalog launch! It's always such a great pleasure to sit back and see all the beautiful fledgling colors put an extra pop into the backyard. I love being able to sit on the patio and sip a glass of something cold and watch nature in full swing! Thank you to everyone that came by this weekend or ordered online! I'm truly grateful to each and every one of you - my favorite crafters! I met new crafting friends, and got to catch up with a long time crafting friend! My sister came and brought a friend along. It was all great fun looking through my handmade cards and playing with the make and takes I had planned for them! Everyone had a great time experimenting with stamping - 1st time for my sister! I had another great learning opportunity as well! For now, I've packed up my thoroughly organized retired products for the next time. Still plenty of great deals left, so if you are still interested or are looking for that special stamp set, I'm leaving the lists updated here to search for those treasures. I'll be adding more retiring products from the 2021 January - June at the end of June - more on that later on in today's post!
While prepping for Saturday's event, I got to spend a little time in the stamping studio late Friday night to make a few samples for the catalog launch. My desk was a total mess as there are so many favorites and so little time to pull it together after all of the other preparations - lol! I had to toss my coin and go with my favorite season - Autumn! I pulled out my Beauty of the Earth Suite and cased a couple of the Catalog designs. I took the one with the two trees and changed it up a bit and made it my own!
I started with the card base with a color that I very rarely use - Cajun Craze. It's the perfect rusty color that reminds me so much of Autumn. I then cut up the colorful Autumn leaves Designer Series Paper from the Beauty of the Earth DSP and adhered to the card front with Stampin' Seal. I just love how the trees sway in all different directions when cut into 4" x 5 1/4" pieces.
Next, I cut a piece of Basic White using the third from the largest stitched, scalloped die from the Scalloped Contour Dies. I stamped the tree trunk in the center of the die cut from the Beauty of Friendship Photopolymer Stamp set with Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad. I stamped the more solid tree top with Bumblebee Classic Stampin Pad and then the outline tree top on top of that with Pear Pizazz Classic Stampin' Pad. I adhered this to the cardfront with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped another tree trunk with Sahara Sand Classic Stampin Pad onto a scrap of Basic White and then die cut the trunk from the Beautiful Tree Dies. I stamped another more solid tree top with Bumblebee Classic Stampin' Pad and then the outline tree top stamp on top of that with Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Pad. I die cut this using the tree top die from the Beautiful Tree Dies. I adhered the trunk with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals cut in half - the trunk is skinny so they work great cut in half to add that great dimension! I adhered the tree top with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the "friendships refresh the Soul" sentiment with my VersaMark Pad and then heat embossed with White Stampin' Embossing Powder onto a scrap piece of Pear Pizazz cardstock. I trimmed this and then using my Paper Snips Scissors, I "flagged" the right side. I adhered this to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Here are the Stampin' Up! samples created from this beautiful suite. I cased the one in the lower right hand corner. I also cased the one in the lower left hand corner! I loved the foggy fall day appeal. If you are a tree, and especially, Autumn lover - this is your Suite!!!
