A Pocket Card from Hand-Penned Suite Collection

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, May 11, 2021

Happy Mother's Day!  I hope you all had a wonderful day celebrating this special day for the special Mom's in our lives.  I am so fortunate to have my mom and mother-in-law to share this day dedicated to those that nurture and care for all the special people and fur babies in our lives.  I cried when I read my mother-in-law's card - she gave me a huge compliment about my being a great mom.  It meant so much to me!  My boys are adults now, but I still think of them as my little boys!  lol

I spent the afternoon sitting in my new comfy chair in my new crafting studio making some thank you cards and swap cards for my Stampin' Up! team meeting.  I am so loving my new space!  I'm waiting on my final two shelf units and then everything will have it's space!  I can't wait until everything is in it's place.  I played with the Hand Penned Suite again this weekend and cased a card from Rose Ward of Stampersdelight.com.  I had made this pocket card and posted as my very first post on 6/14/2020!  A year later I still love this card design and even more so with this lovely floral paper.  Everyone needs a beautiful Thank You card for spreading the joy on Mother's Day - I received 2 bouquet of beautiful flowers, a pretty pink Lily plant and beautiful, special cards full of loving thoughts.

I used two of the floral papers from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper.  The one that I cased from Ruth, used the Highland Heather and So Saffron combination.  I used the multi floral stamp from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp set for decorating the inside of the card and the outside of the envelope.  I used the beautiful new Highland Heather Grosgrain ribbon and the new 2021 - 20223 In Color Jewels.  These little gems are gorgeous!!!  They have been so popular they are all sold out already - only week after the catalog went live!  They should be available for reorder the end of May.   I then made a set with the Petal Pink and Misty Moonlight combination.  I used Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon to wrap around the card.  I colored Basic Pearl Jewels with Dark Petal Pink and Light Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends to embellish this variation.  It is so hard to like one more than the other as they both turned out so pretty!  Just like our children!  The one tip that I learned from Rose's construction of this card was to wrap a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive around the card to keep the pocket closed.  Next wrap a length of ribbon around the card just meeting the ribbon ends.  Then place a pretty matching bow and adhere to the seam of the ribbon with Glue Dots!

I've been adding additional items to my Retired Products list and posting to my website - this week it was paper.  I admit I love Paper and I have a weakness there.  I'll be parting with a lot of paper!  Please take a look at the lists under Shop Now to see what's been added.  I've had 4 orders last week so some items are going, going, gone!  No worries, I've plenty to select from.  There will be plenty for the live party on 5/20 too!

I look forward to seeing my local crafting friends to check out the great deals, have fun with make and take, and check out my class schedule!  I am almost done with posting all of what I've pulled upstairs.  There may be a few more items to add by end of this week.  So check back again!

Now through the end of May 2021, Stampin' Up! is offering a special host reward!  Host a part of $250 in orders, and receive an extra $25 reward on top of the normal 10% - that equates to $50 total in reward "dollars" to use on any products within the in current catalogs.  The percentage reward increases to 12% for orders starting at $300, to 14% for orders starting at $450 - $599 and 16% for orders starting at $600.  At the $450 order level and above, you receive one product at 50%.  There are some exclusions from this offer.  And you have the chance to purchase one of the host special host rewards not available any other way:  Prince & Princess Stamp Set, Better Places Stamp Set, Natural Textures Stamp set and/or Pattern Party DSP - if you love black and white prints, the reverse side of this paper is fabulous!  See Pages 170 - 171 of the 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalog for more details!  Please reach out to me if you are interested in hosting a party this month.  I would love to spend time with you and your friends working on a project that you select!

Another exciting promotion coinciding with the launch of the new catalog, Stampin' Up! has increased the amount of products you can select for your Starter Kit by joining my team.  Through the end of May, instead of $125 of product that you choose, you can select $155 of product for only $99 dollars - and free shipping for your starter kit order!  That's $56 of free products!  Once you are setup, you can immediately begin using your 20% off on your next order!  There is no pressure to sell anything - just use the discount for you!  As an avid crafter, who wouldn't want to get stunning products discounted with every purchase!  I would love to talk to you about this fantastic opportunity - please let me know if you have any questions on how this works!  This is the perfect time to sign up and get those wish list items you have!

Ooooo!  Look at the June Paper Pumpkin Kit - In Color inspiration that coordinates with the stunning new Expressions in Ink Suite.  I absolutely love the "alcohol blending techinque"!  I've been itching to try this with my alcohol pens, vellum cardstock, 90% alcohol and some gold leafing!  This kit is definitely #1 on my list!  How about you?

The kit comes with 9 cards and coordinating envelopers, 2 not 1 but 2 Classic Stampin' Spots.  Features colors from the 2020 - 2022 and 2021 - 2023 In Color collection.  The box is stunning too!  Available to order from my online store from May 11 - June 10.  You won't want to miss out on this one!

I'm behind on my So Cool (April's Paper Pumpkin) kit.  I've seen some great alternatives and am itching to get my crafting area cleared up a bit so I can have some fun making some great kid's birthday cards - my sister needs some!  May's Paper Pumpkin - Batter Up - will be great for kid's birthday cards as well.   So guessing I'm going to be busy making kids bday cards over the next couple of weeks!  What are you going to be working on?

Stay warm in Denver the first part of the week is a bit chilly - can't get my plants in the ground yet - darn it!  But it will be warm by the end of the week so hoping Sunday!  I hope you have a fabulous week.

Keep on Crafting!
