I remember those long summer nights as a child. Playing hide and seek, sitting under the starry sky looking for constellations, and just enjoying being young and free. What were your favorite memories of being a child and what did you do on those long summer nights?
I now enjoy the summer nights cooling off on the back patio with a glass of wine with my feet up on the outdoor couch unwinding from a long day of being cooped up in the house in front of a computer. When I received my July Paper Pumpkin kit, I couldn't wait to get into the craft room and make some adorable Summer Night lanterns. I can't wait to take these cuties outside to enjoy their glow they provide. Tonight they are in my living room where I can enjoy while I write this blog.
I knew that July's Summer Nights kit would be another of my favorites. Stampin! Up® didn't disappoint! The colors are just like sunset at dusk with the bright little stars beginning to show themselves.
The kit comes with 9 lantern bags and 3 each of 3 different dusky, sunset background post cards. I used the postcards as card fronts and attached them to coordinating 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card bases. I made one each of the 4 projects based upon the Paper Pumpkin instructions provided in the kit. Did you know that each month's Paper Pumpkin kit has a how to video that demonstrates each of the provided projects? There are also a few alternate projects provided with the insert provided inside the kit.
I had so much making fun making alternatives for the remaining lantern bags and postcards. I turned some of the lanterns into gift bags by lining with 6" x 8" Cellophane bags and made little tags to be attached with some of our gorgeous ribbons. I used sentiments from stamp sets from the 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalog to finish up my alternatives. I added bling to my alternatives by using Gold Embossing Powder and added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to light up the little stars dotting the sky.
I had a large amount of die cuts left over to embellish the optional add on cards and can't wait to get them in my next order. The Summer Nights Add-on card kit comes with 6 each of 4 different dusky, sunset cards and coordinating envelopes from the original kit.
The August Paper Pumpkin is going to be a special kit to thank the heroes in our lives. During this pandemic there are many everyday heroes in our lives that we should show how much we appreciate them being in our lives. Your order must be placed by August 10 to receive this special kit. Here is a link to order yours.
Have a wonderful week - take an evening to enjoy the summer nights before they end. Summer is going fast!

I am enjoying the beautiful “fireworks” every night from the luminaries you brought meet ! Those were an adorable idea & they are so pretty. Really like having a luminary inside my house vs. outside & with no flames. You are always so creative. Thank you 💗
ReplyDeleteI’m so glad that you are enjoying them! They are a great table decoration! Enjoy!9
